Former professor of English. Opted for early retirement in order to devote myself to writing literary fiction. However, drawing and painting have remained an ingrained and fascinating passion since my early life. Unfortunately (or fortunately), I have never set foot inside an art school. Hence it took me over a decade to teach myself how to paint. Learning photography required the same painstaking and personal effort. As for writing fiction, I believe it is an art impossible to teach or learn. One must have the spark and the will to sweat and agonize. And with some luck that spark may turn into a fire of creativity.
